Minor PAN Card: Why It’s
Important and How to Apply
Financial planning for
children often begins early, whether through investments, savings accounts, or
insurance. A crucial document that enables these steps is the Minor PAN Card.
Since minors cannot apply themselves, parents or legal guardians must take
responsibility for obtaining it.
Why a Minor PAN Card Is
Necessary
A Minor PAN Card may be
required in several situations:
- Investing in mutual funds or fixed
deposits in a child’s name
- Opening a bank account for a minor
- Making a child a nominee in
investments or insurance policies
- If the child earns income
independently, a PAN card becomes mandatory
